Welcome!

This is Jin’s research group in the Department of Physics at Auburn University. Our group focuses on studying novel phases of matter in low-dimensional quantum systems. We exploit a variety of experimental techniques such as femtosecond laser-based nonlinear optical spectroscopy and synchrotron-based photoemission spectroscopy/microscopy to investigate the electronic and magnetic structures at surfaces and interfaces.

Let’s shed light on quantum materials in the flatland!

Hussam Mustafa Publishes a Paper in ACS Nano

Congratulations to Hussam Mustafa for his first publication! His work with Dr. Wencan Jin and Dr. Rui He is published in ACS Nano in the American Chemical Society Publications. in showcases the origin of the large effective phonon magnetic moments in monolayer molybdenum disulfide, which is generally considered as a nonmagnetic material, interestingly resembles paramagnetic behavior. Chunli Tang Publishes a Paper in APL

Congratulations to Dr. Wencan Jin, Dr. Eui-Hyeok Yang, and Chunli Tang on their recent work in Applied Physical Letters in the American Institute of Physics Publishing! Their work highlights an antisymmetric hump in Hall resistivity using iron-doped monolayer tungsten diselelnide chemically vapor deposited on a platinum Hall bar.
